'The Wonderful Story of Kelvin Kind' is the fifth short film by award winning Irish writer / director Ian Power. It was produced by Macdara Kelleher of Fastnet Films and Executive Produced by Eoghan Ryan of Rocket Productions. The short was made under the RTE / Irish Film Board Short Cuts scheme and was filmed at Ardmore Studios and on location in Dublin. Up-and-coming Irish star, Bern Deegan delivers a Chaplinesque performance in the title roll of 'The Wonderful Story of Kelvin Kind'. The film also features terrific appearances by Keith Mc Erlean ('Flyboys'), newcomer Joanne King, Miriam Kelly ('Father Ted'), Doreen Keogh ('The Royale Family', 'Cold Feet'), Ned Dennehy ('Reign of Fire', 'King Arthur') and John Kavanagh ('Braveheart', 'Alexander'). To bring the imaginative world of Kelvin Kind to life, the production team recruited some of Ireland's top creative talent which included Production Designer Ray Ball, Lighting Cameraman James Mather, Costume Designer Sonya Lennon and Music Composer Ian Smyth. The film was edited by Vinny Beirne at The Farm post production facility in Dublin, Ireland. In March of this year Warner Brothers selected 'The Wonderful Story of Kelvin Kind' for a nationwide theatrical release with the Keanu Reeve's blockbuster 'Constantine'. In April, the film picked up its first award at the Celtic Film and Television Festival where it won top honours with the Jury Bronze Torc for Best Short Drama 2005.
