Ivan Mc Coullagh

Twenty nine year old Cinematographer Ivan McCullough has been involved in film making for over ten years. He began at Marino V.E.C. and then at Collaiste Dhulaigh where he studied broadcasting. His graduate diploma film, “Biological Maintenance Department”(1997) enjoyed great success at the Galway Film Fleadh in 1997.

Ivan commenced a degree in Irelands National Film School in Dun Laoghaire Institute of Art Design and Technology in 1996, where he specialized in Cinematography. During this time, Ivan worked on a number of award winning shorts, which included director Barry Dignam’s impressive “Dream Kitchen”(1999). This short won numerous awards including Best Irish Short at the Galway Film Fleadh.

Ivan graduated from Dun Laoghaire in late 1999 and went straight into production on the low-budget feature film Last Days in Dublin, which enjoyed a cinematic release earlier this year.

In February 2000 Ivan shot Ian Powers short film “Buskers”, which won awards for Best Irish Short at the Galway Film Fleadh, The Cork Film Festival, The Foyle Film Festival, was nominated for a Turner Classic Short Award at the London Film Festival, and was part of the Kodak Oscar Run in Los Angeles.

Since then Ivan has shot a number of other short films and music videos. He is currently immersed in principal photography on Lance Daly’s second feature venture “The Halo Effect”. He shoots almost exclusively on film and this summer completed the Kodak Cinematography Workshop in New York, further expanding his knowledge of film and its capabilities
